In life matters – be it family, relationships, business, governance… The prioritization of our long-term vs our short-term objectives can be a serious management issue if not a heavy dilemma …
But while we are busy with the hopes and fears of our projections, we tend to forget that this is a decision process, and that decision making process always happens in the present . Which I call the instant-term.
It is our clarity in this instant-term that will determine our ability to manage and respond at best to our human complexity.
For example, the outcomes will differ greatly whether our responses come from our IMPULSIVENESS or our WISDOM. Or whether it comes from our LIMITED UNDERSTANDING or our COLLECTIVE KNOWLEDGE.
Thus, we can consider that the quality and capacity of our instant-term decision making is the major factor that affects us. Personally, as a family, a local community, a nation and a civilization.
But, did evolution give us enough tools to deal with life complexity?
